The team at Social Nova events challenged us to develop a bright and bold brand identity pulling inspiration to popular 1990’s designs for their 90s Bar Crawl events. From logo and website design, to onsite materials and product designs as well.


The 90s Bar CrawlSM takes you back to the glory days  to simpler times, when you used pogs to barter and when you drove karts instead of cars. They bring the crowd, the music and the specials and you bring your best friends dressed in your favorite 90’s gear. Simple!


Our experience working in the event industry gave us an advantage of knowing what messaging and materials might be needed for many scenarios. So when we set out to develop the initial identity we knew it had to incorporate styles from that era, be bold and simple and work well on many mediums.

As the project grew into web and marketing we starting taking advantage of advanced analytic tracking, integration Facebook events and custom Google maps for attendees to utilize on the day of the event.


Drawing inspiration from researching 90’s themed materials and knowing that the event is meant to be a fun and exciting social experience we set out to create a custom illustrated a logo mark that encompassed this emotion.


Now on version two of the 90sBarCrawl.com we initial developed a themed website that included many of the pop culture icons from the 90’s in an illustrated style. As the event grew so did the website.

It has since evolved into an intuitive guide to finding the nearest location to attend, seeing who else is attending via Facebook Events and utilizing Google maps as guide to navigate when you’re attending.


When marketing an event, user behavior is super important to understand. And while Google Analytics offers a lot of capabilities out of the box, this client was missing a piece of the story due to integrations with social networking & ticketing vendors. We worked with the client to understand what they needed to know about the customer journey and designed a custom implementation to accommodate that vision. The new level of detail allowed for more detailed reporting and ultimately data-driven decisions.
